During the last weekend reading a book in a bookstore in Quebec, I put my hand on a book entitled Careers academic 2011, a " comprehensive source of information on training undergraduate and occupations that are related " according to an editor's note on the cover. Comfortably seated in an armchair placed at the disposal of the customers, I started looking for information about the profession I putting myself in place of "youth process of career choice " consultant this "essential tool start thinking, make comparisons and take action .
In the index, no mention of the profession of archivist and nothing about records management, document management, records management and even less of the integrated document management. Finally, professional non-existent! As I'm usually stubborn, I began to search further. No mention of course in Management Science or jurisdictions where it is more a question of Career Information Systems. On page 372, Section Humanities, a discreet mention: Archivist, a program offered in Quebec, it seems, only at the University Montreal! And absolutely nothing about the challenges and opportunities of trade. I even looked in the program descriptions in History: nyet.
Posted by Jobboom, a leading job site in Canada, this guide highlights the occupations of interest to those who wish to study in a program that suits them. Agree with me that by far and there is not much risk that universities should refuse the applications.
